Altercasting

Knowledge

Altercasting influences behavior by assigning someone a role that makes a requested action seem fitting. Direct labels or complementary roles can create identity pressure. Targets may accept, reinterpret, or reject the assignment, so role consistency neither guarantees compliance nor establishes that the influence is legitimate.
