Bernhard Schieber
Senior advisor on the structure behind executive decisions.
“Purpose precedes Structure. Structure sustains action. Action provides Results.”
Senior advisor to executive leadership
When strategy stalls, the problem is not only the people. It is also the structure they work inside.
I diagnose the structural friction behind stalled decisions, unclear accountability and failed execution — in one executive, a leadership team or an entire organization — and design the architecture that removes it.
From Diagnosis to Action.
The series in publication
Everything that happens in an organization happens in communication. This series reads the theories, models, frameworks and tools of the field one at a time — what each explains, where it fails, and what it changes for the decisions an executive actually takes.

The Corporate Training Trap
The problems you trained for are still on your desk. For leading, deciding and communicating, what people return to decides whether training is used — and the higher the participants sit, the less it changes.

The Communication Trap
After two fatal crashes of its newest airliner, Boeing introduced three habits across the enterprise: seek, speak and listen. A year later, 85 percent of employees said they used them. In 2024 an expert panel reporting to the aviation regulator found people who did not know where to report a safety concern, and who hesitated to report for fear of retaliation.
The problem you called communication is still on your desk. It was never only a communication problem.

Books on Communication
Nine works close the series, each answering one question. Seven are on the bookshelves; two are in preparation, with a waiting list.

The problem
Everyone can talk. That is exactly why almost no one in leadership has been trained to communicate.
The failure is not too little communication. It is the conviction of communicating well.
The good news: this can be trained — and when it is trained well, people really do change how they work.

The discipline behind the work
One discipline. One theory. Several key fields.
Not a set of loose tools. A discipline, explained by a general theory and read field by field — at the scale of the individual, the group, the organization and society.
