Visual hierarchy

Knowledge

Visual hierarchy organizes the relative prominence of elements so that some attract attention before others. Through scale, placement, and contrast, a design implies informational priorities, which must be compared with the user’s actual task to judge whether the most prominent element is also the most useful one.
