Talking Circles / Sharing Circles (Wiisokotaatiwin)

Knowledge

Talking and Sharing Circles organize dialogue through community-specific relationships, protocols, and responsibilities rather than a universal discussion format. Participation, knowledge stewardship, and interpretation require appropriate local authority, while neither circular seating nor turn-taking guarantees safety or representation and Wiisokotaatiwin retains its specific Anishinaabe community provenance rather than naming every circle practice.
