Pluralistic Ignorance occurs when a group systematically misreads its members’ private attitudes. Public conformity can sustain an apparent consensus that many privately reject. Diagnosis measures personal views separately from perceived group views; silence alone cannot establish the mismatch, and accurate feedback should preserve the actual diversity.
