Priming (Media/Political Priming)

Knowledge

Political priming examines how media emphasis changes the weight of issues in evaluations of political actors, potentially without changing issue-specific opinions. Accessibility and perceived applicability both matter, so increased coverage or shifted approval alone cannot establish priming or predict its direction and duration.

Effects, Biases & Phenomena
