Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA)

Knowledge

Critical Discourse Analysis examines how linguistic and semiotic choices participate in power, ideology, and inequality through a specified analytic tradition. Its claims require recurring textual evidence, documented context, and attention to counterexamples, while a pattern of wording alone cannot establish manipulative intent, shared audience interpretation, or the effects of an institutional message.
