Assertiveness versus aggression

Knowledge

Assertiveness versus aggression is the distinction between directly expressing one’s needs, preferences or disagreement and behaving aggressively toward others. The two remain distinct even when direct behavior has difficult relational consequences, so self-reported assertiveness needs examination of actual conduct before it is read as respectful assertion.
