After-Action Review (AAR)

Knowledge

An After-Action Review compares intent with events and turns shared reconstruction into adaptations to test. Participants identify strengths as well as weaknesses. Its value depends on evidence, candid participation, and follow-through; recording lessons or holding a meeting alone does not demonstrate operational learning.
