Production is not communication maturity
Communication maturity depends on distributed understanding, structure, climate, competence, and leadership rather than the volume or polish of official outputs.
Premise
An organization can look communicatively sophisticated while remaining weak at communication. New platforms, polished campaigns, strong media work, and rising content output say little about whether managers explain decisions, employees know how communication responsibilities are organized, feedback travels, or communication competence exists beyond the specialist function.
The Nordic Organizational Communication Maturity work changes the unit of analysis. Instead of asking how much communication a department produces, it asks how deeply communication is understood, organized, practiced, led, and culturally reinforced across the organization. Maturity is therefore an organizational capability question, not a production score.

Model
In this series, Model names the editorial family primarily used to understand and explain communication: theories, frameworks, effects, traditions, principles and other conceptual resources. It is an umbrella for a route into the field, not a claim that every included object is a predictive model.

Analytical Frameworks, Typologies & Heuristics
Organizes dimensions, distinctions, types or questions so that a situation can be examined systematically. A framework supplies structure, a typology distinguishes forms, and a heuristic offers a usable way to orient judgment.
