Havruta: Make Interpretation Audible Through Disciplined Pair Work

Make the reasoning audible

Text-centered dialogue can expose reasoning through listening, articulation, inquiry, focus, support, and challenge without becoming a generic paired discussion.

Premise

Havruta is paired text study in which two learners read, interpret, question, explain, and challenge meaning while keeping the text available as a shared reference point. The executive relevance lies in making reasoning observable. Interpretations must be articulated, heard, tested, and returned to evidence rather than remaining private impressions. Orit Kent’s modern theory clarifies this process without claiming to have invented the inherited Jewish learning practice.
