Self-efficacy concerns perceived capability to perform a specific behavior in its relevant context. Mastery, vicarious experience, credible persuasion, and interpreted bodily or emotional states inform that judgment. Communication should build calibrated capability beliefs alongside skills, resources, and opportunity, rather than confuse confidence with competence or structural permission.
