Knowledge

Coordination cost is the time, attention, and other resources devoted to managing dependencies among activities. Meetings, handovers, and scheduling can contribute to it. Costs depend on the work and coordinating arrangements; headcount alone does not determine them, and coordination is not inherently wasteful.
