Transfer the agenda without abandoning governance
Open Space Technology transfers agenda creation to participants while keeping purpose, boundaries, documentation, and the route from conversation to action explicit.
Premise
Open Space Technology changes who decides what deserves working time. A sponsor defines a consequential theme and the non-negotiable boundary; participants then create the detailed agenda, convene sessions, move among conversations, and document what emerges. For executives, the method is useful when complexity, diversity, urgency, and potential conflict make a centrally programmed agenda likely to miss important knowledge. Its value comes from making voluntary attention visible without pretending that self-selection is the same as representation.
